- Photocopy of 68 ms letters written while serving with the Palestine Police Force, February 1937 - February 1940, during his training in Jerusalem, February - May 1937, then service in Haifa, June - December 1937, with the Inlying Picquet, December 1937 - April 1938; back in Haifa, May - October 1938, and finally in Acre, January 1939 - February 1940, and in which he talks at length about the Arab-Israeli conflicts, relations between the Police and the British Army and of both these forces with the Arab and Jewish people, and of the harsh tactics used by the Police, as well as general comments on living conditions of the Police and of the civilian; together with photocopy of ms letter (2pp) from his brother William, written while serving with No 2 Coy, 3 TM Section, 2nd Corps Signals, BEF describing life in France during the Phoney War phase, March 1940.
