- Identity documents and other official papers, together with personal correspondence, concerning the extended family of Leo and Sara Sygmand, a Jewish family resident in Leipzig, Germany, until the Nazi regime forced them to seek refuge in England in the 1930s; the papers broadly span the period late 1800s - 1950s, with items of an earlier and later date, with emphasis on the 1930s and 1940s when the Sygmands were living in Hendon, north London, where their son-in-law, Henryk Leser, was involved in the local Civil Defence / ARP organisation.
