- Memoir (150pp ts), begun in the late 1970s, recalling his family background and early childhood in Vienna during the First World War and the 1920s, his association with the Austrian Zionist youth movement, his emigration to Italy in 1936 in search of work and subsequent experiences in Milan where he set up a small chemicals company, providing a lively picture of the German-speaking refugee community in the city in the late 1930s before the Italian government introduced its own anti-Jewish legislation, his escape to Britain via France in 1938 and employment in various chemicals companies in London, Manchester and Welwyn Garden City before being interned in Hutchinson Camp on the Isle of Man in 1940, his varied experiences following his release, including service in the Home Guard in London, and concluding with an account of his family and professional life in London and the south east of England in the late 1940s and 1950s.
