- Photocopy of vivid ts account (78pp witten in late 1980's) of his experiences, largely as a youth in Bonn, Germany during the persecution of his family by the Nazis for the help he and his mother gave to a Jewish shopkeeper after 'Kristallnacht' (10 November 1938 which he describes), the anguish his family suffered, especially his mother and his father, the famous oriental philologist Professor Paul Kahle, the attitudes of 'friends' and colleagues, their eventual flight to England via Belgium, the help given them by acquaintances, and a brief resume of his and his family's subsequent lives. (He was ordained a priest in the 1950's and has lived in England since 1938). Also printed booklet entitled 'What Would You Have Done' (46pp written in 1941) giving his mother's version of the above events, which largely duplicates his own.
