- Extensive collection of personal correspondence, diaries, official papers and ephemera (in English and German) mostly dating from the first half of the 20th century and concerning a German-Jewish family resident in Berlin prior to the outbreak of the Second World War [Bernhard and Margarethe Schueler were deported to the Theresienstadt (Terezin) Ghetto in 1942 where Bernhard died, his wife emigrating to Britain after the war; their daughter Ruth Bormann and her two children Marianne and Johanna arrived in England in 1939, Ruth eventually finding employment in the medical profession and Marianne serving in the ATS for a number of years, while Ruth's husband Wilhelm Bormann remained in Germany throughout the war].
