- Photocopy of a letter (4pp ms in German, with 3pp ts translation) written in December 1938 from Bradford by Ludwig Guttmann to his brother Alex in Switzerland, describing his and his family's experiences during the 'Night of Broken Glass (Kristallnacht)' in Breslau, Silesia, the previous month, together with a brief account (1p ts) of those events written by his mother in 1976 [his father, Dr F Guttmann, was Director of the Jewish Hospital in Breslau before the family emigrated prior to the Second World War].
