- 'Alexandra Palace Internment Camp, 1914-1918: a study of the life of the prisoners by one of them, Rudolf Rocker, continued by his son. Typescript.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Rudolph Rocker was born in Mainz, becoming a journeyman bookbinder and travelling throughout Europe to pursue his work and interest in socialism. He settled in Britain in 1895.Despite a Catholic background Rocker became closely involved in the Jewish anarchist movement learning Yiddish and editing several Yiddish magazines. He became a member of the International Anarchist Bureau in 1907. Rocker was strongly opposed to World War I and was interned as an enemy alien. In 1918 he was deported to the Netherlands and returned to Germany. In 1933 he left Germany to escape Nazi persecution and settled in the USA.
