This collection contains the records created by the Romanian National Congress on the Organisational Administration in Bukovina. This record group deals with all the bureaucratic procedures that occurred as Bukovina transitioned from a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire to a part of Romania, including the liquidation of Austro-Hungarian institutional structures.
The collection includes documents on two themes relevant to Jewish history: Jewish individuals negotiating citizenship under Romanian rule and government relations with Jewish organisations.
Regarding citizenship, this collection includes documents of Jews requesting birth certificates and a list of all the Storozhnyets citizens who have requested passports to emigrate to America. The local government also kept a list from 1913-1933 of all government recognised organisations and businesses in the region.
Regarding Jewish organisations, this collection includes Jewish organisations that have requested approval for their charters and liquidations of established Jewish organisations.
