- The collection contains the records of the Municipality of Novi Sad. It includes documents regarding Jews such as building permits, work permits, court decisions, economic permits and records dealing with education, Jewish property (including its confiscation) and other aspects of the Jewish community.
- Archival history:
- The archive material was received partly from the NOO Novi Sad (record number 180/3; on 25 October 1958) and partly from the Archive of Vojvodina (record number 031-4/1; on 11 February 1972).
- Administrative/biographical history:
- On 11 April 1941 the head of the Hungarian General Staff introduced military administration to the region at the behest of the supreme commander and a military command was installed to govern Novi Sad. This came into force on 13 April with the entry of the occupying army into Novi Sad and lasted until 1 May 1942. Civilian authorities resumed on 2 May 1942, comprising a municipal committee of 56 ordinary members. The mayor Miklos Nagy was appointed as its president.
