The Henryk Sienkiewicz IV State Secondary School in Krakow was one of the most important educational institutions of interwar Krakow that also accepted Jewish students. Teachers of Jewish origin were also employed there. Silberzweig taught geometry classes, and Mosaic religion was taught by, among others Rabbi Ozjasz Thon, Mojżesz Perlmutter. Jewish students, ie.g. Allerhand and Rothirsch, were involved in the history club. Most Jewish-related records are high school graduation certificates, certificates of promotion obtained with a list of grades, usually from 1933-1939, as well as excerpts from Jewish vital records offices. This collection is important for research on Jewish education in interwar Krakow and for genealogical research.

- Archival history:
- The school records were stored in the school building on Krupnicza Street in Krakow. Records from the period 1900-1921 were taken over by the District [ziemskie] Archives in Krakow. Records from the interwar period were taken over in 1949 by the Provincial Archives (currently the National Archives in Krakow), and a year after the school was liquidated the records from the years 1945-1950 were transferred to the national archive. Part of the secondary school reports from 1903-1933, published in print, were in the possession of the library of the Pedagogical University and made available online.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- In 1900 a branch of the B. Nowodworski secondary school was established. Two years later it was transformed into the state secondary school no. IV, and in 1911 into a secondary school [gimnazjum realne] (the so-called Imperial-Royal Gymnasium IV). From 1918, after Poland regained independence, it became a state school. In 1922/23, the school was transformed into the Henryk Sienkiewicz IV secondary school with a humanities profile. In the years 1939-1945 the school was closed by the Germans. From 1945 to1950 the school operated as the Henryk Sienkiewicz IV Public Secondary School and Junior High School, and then closed.
