- Administrative/biographical history:
- JCD, formerly known as Jewish Child's Day, is a charity providing support for Jewish children suffering from physical and emotional disabilities, neglect, abuse and financial hardship. It was founded in 1947 to give Jewish families in Britain the opportunity to help children in Europe whose lives had changed in the aftermath of the Second World War. Traditionally, Jewish Child's Day was one day of the year - the first Sunday of Hanukkah - but now JCD operates throughout the year.
