- Administrative/biographical history:
- Appears to have been founded following sermons in the North East by Chaim Zundel Maceoby, known as the Kamenitzer Maggid, at the turn of the century. Murray Rosenberg of Newcastle was one of the delegates to the conference in London which resulted in the formation of the English Zionist Federation in 1898. The Newcastle Zionist Association was established by 1900, accompanied by a ladies branch, the Newcastle B'noth Zion and a library.
