- This collection includes photocopies and originals of military service papers of Jaffey and Freedman families, apprenticeship agreement, and correspondence regarding the fate of Martin Rosenberg's foster father Beer Lasser Gutthulf at the hands of the Gestapo.

- Administrative/biographical history:
- The grandfather of Sorrel Rosenberg left Germany during the late 1930s and settled on Wearside. The family had originated in Russia. These papers relate to the Russian forebears of Mrs Rosenberg, and to the fate of Beer Gotthulf, the Jewish German foster father of Mr Martin Rosenberg, at the hands of the Berlin Gestapo in 1942.
