- This collection includes constitution and rules, orders of service, timetables of services, brochures, marriage registers, financial statements, meeting minutes, register of members, correspondence, and papers relating to marriages.

- Held by creating organisation/individual until gifted to Tyne and Wear Archives.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The congregation was formally established in 1922 and a synagogue opened in Oxford Street in 1938. This was enlarged in 1966. By the early 1990s the congregation had declined to the extent that services could no longer be maintained. Although the remaining members resisted closure for as long as possible, the synagogue was finally sold c. 2000.
