- This fonds contains notes and reports concerning science policy, various notes, documentation related to science policy and correspondence.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Maximilien Wajskop (1932-1993) was born in Brussels in 1932. He held a degree in Romance philology and was initially a high school teacher before studying phonetics in France. In 1962 he became the director of the Institut de phonétique of the ULB, where he also lectured and conducted research. He was appointed professor at the ULB (1972) and member of its board (1976-1978, 1986-1993). A specialist in acoustics, he was one of the founders of the Association belge de Linguistique appliquée and the European Speech Communication Association. He worked for the Ministry of National Education (1982-1985) and also held the post of deputy chief of cabinet of the minister of Science Policy, from 1978 until 1988. (J.
