- This fonds contains the personal records of Marc Goldberg. We also find the minutes of meetings of the Comité d’action pour Israël (1967-1968), bookkeeping documents of this committee (1967-1969) and correspondence. (See box 75).
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Born in Liège in 1928, Marc Goldberg studied law at the ULB (1947-1952). He married Véra Ghilman in 1952. They had four children: Yves, Anne, Michaël and Martine. Parallel to his brilliant career – he was inscribed at the Brussels Bar (1952-1982), became judge at the Tribunal de première instance of Brussels (1982-1990) and attorney at the Cour d’Appel in Brussels – Marc Goldberg was heavily involved in the associational life of the Jewish community. He was one of the founders of the Union des Déportés Juifs de Belgique, he was the president of the association Pro Muséo Judaïco as well as the Centrale d’Œuvres Sociales Juives, he founded and led the Fondation de la Mémoire Contemporaine and was a board member of the Institut Martin Buber. Goldberg was also active for the Wiener Library.
