Scope and content:: In this file we first note no. 761 # 633, which consists of various documents related to the Jewish community of Antwerp (1971-1976). We find i.a. press cuttings, correspondence with Sylvain Brachfeld, documents on the centenary of the Jewish community, speeches by Geldolf, etc. File no. 761 # 418 concerns the incident between mayor Lode Craeybeckx and members of the Jewish community (1964). The following files were produced by Geldolf in his capacity as president of the Belgo-Israeli section of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. File no. 761 # 109 (1973-1978) contains documents of a general nature. In file no. 761 # 16 (1976-1982) we find correspondence with and documentation about the Belgisch Israëlitisch Weekblad. We also mention the minutes of meetings and correspondence concerning the Belgische Vereniging voor Vriendschap met Israël (no. 761 # 17; 1974-1981) and the Belgische Vrienden van de Hebreeuwse Universiteit te Jeruzalem (no. 761 # 18; 1980-1982).

Administrative/biographical history:: Wim Geldolf (born 1928) is a socialist politician. He was a member of parliament (1968-1979) and coopted senator (1983-1985). He has been an honorary senator since 1985. Apart from his political career, Geldolf is the author of various historical studies i.a. concerning Camille Huysmans.
