- Administrative/biographical history:
- Suzy Falk was born in Düsseldorf in 1922. Her parents were secular German Jews. After Hitler came to power, the Falk family fled to Brussels, hoping to build a new life. During the Second World War Suzy Falk worked in the Hôpital israélite d’Ixelles. The private acting classes she took proved fruitful after the Occupation. Falk became active in theatre in 1945. In her acting career, spanning more than 60 years, she performed a wide range of roles in plays of nearly all important classical and contemporary playwrights. She worked for traditional theatre as well as for younger, newer companies. Falk is also an accomplished comedian, and singing, dance and cabaret also were a part of her repertoire. In 1990 she was awarded the Ève du Théâtre. In 2001 Suzy Falk was celebrated for her work as a comedian. (Y.-W. Delzenne & J.
