- This fonds primarily contains bookkeeping records, invoices, correspondence and files regarding war damage to the synagogue sustained during the Second World War.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- King Leopold II provided a wing of a former royal palace to accommodate a synagogue in the seaside town of Ostend. In December 1910 the Jewish community of Ostend obtained permission to build a genuine synagogue. The synagogue was designed by architect Joseph De Lange, and inaugurated in August 1911. It is located on Filip van Maastrichtplein and is still in use today.
