- Scope and content:
- In this fonds we note a file (covering the years 1941-1947) related to the construction and liquidation of the labour camp for expelled Jews in Overpelt – see no. 1317. The file notably contains technical correspondence between a number of administrations (the Rekenhof, services of the Ministry of Reconstruction, the governor of the province of Limburg) related to the question of who is responsible for the camp, who owns the equipment and furniture, what is the state of the equipment after the Liberation, etc.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- In 1972, the Bestuur der Gesubsidieerde Werken en Wederopbouw / Administration des Travaux subsidiés et de la Reconstruction (‘administration for subsidised works and reconstruction’) was created within the Ministry of Public works in the context of the reorganisation of the administrations in charge of the reparation of war damage and the funding of works carried out by local and regional authorities. Its main task was the processing of applications for subsidies. As a consequence of the first constitutional reform, its competences dramatically decreased and the administration was eventually dissolved in 1983.
