- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Head of the Military House (1831 – present), since 1831 always a general, is responsible for the relations with the Ministry of Defence. He supports and advises the Head of State in matters of national and international defence policy, the organisation of the Belgian armed forces, the police- and intelligence services, sport, patriotic and war veterans associations. This officer is also tasked with leading the IT service and coordinating the security corps of the Palace, and he is responsible for the service of vleugeladjudanten and ordonnansofficieren. The Head of the Military House himself is assisted by an advisor. (G.
