- Archival history:
- Originating in the Jewish community of Kazimierz, the core of this collection has been signed out from the archive of the town of Kazimierz (K 928-933, K 935-936). An annotation placed on one of the books indicates that one of the volumes purchased in the archive was donated in the 1890s; these registers have formed a separate collection.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Various institutions produced the documents in the collection, including the authorities of Krakow, the Jewish community in Kazimierz, the voivode’s court of Krakow (see description of collection 29/25), the Austrian authorities of Galicia between 1795 and 1815 and the Free City of Krakow, 1815-46, which in 1833-4 launched filial guilds for Old Testament believers (Jews); official registers of actions have been set up for these institutions. Some documents were generated by private persons.
