The collection of the District Starosty of Dzierżoniów consists of documents generated and accumulated by the Departments (referats): General Organisation; Social and Political; Legal and Administrative (granting/recognition of Polish citizenship, alteration/determination of names); Fire Protection; Settlement; Industry; Provisioning and Trade; Benefits in Kind; Social Care; Reconstruction; Measurements; Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.
The Jewish-related elements are contained in the following units:

The materials on Jewish residents/population contain reports, curricula vitae, lists of persons, lists of artisanal/commercial shops, and letters concerning individuals. There are, moreover, lists/breakdowns, statutes, correspondence and reports on the activities of Jewish political parties, associations, social organisations and sports clubs.
- Archival history:
- The collection comprises units related to the functioning of the County (District) of Dzierżoniów. The records were accumulated by individual referats. Presently, they are stored at Wroclaw’s State Archive, branch of Kamieniec-Ząbkowicki.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The District Starosty of Dzierżoniów was formed in 1946, in lieu of the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Republic of Poland for Circuit no. XII, appointed a year earlier. 1947 saw the merger of the Starosty with the Land Office (Urząd Ziemski) of Dzierżoniów (the Department of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform was established, within the Starosty, in place of the latter). The Starosty functioned till 1950, the date starosties were dissolved under the Homogeneous State Authority Act. New organisational structures of intermediate State administration were established.
