The archival collection of the Urban Construction Office of Dzierżoniów is small and contains a few Jewish-related elements. The materials were generated and collected by the officials in charge of the local construction industry and the planning of the city’s development. The records are related to the projects planned/delivered/under construction, such as construction of a housing estate, local tax office building or town hall renovation.
The material of particular interest is the one related to ‘Aryanisation’ of property, as in the unit file no. 29, containing a list of properties taken over from natural persons, partnerships/companies and the Jewish religious community (a synagogue). The unit moreover contains letters exchanged by the authorities and the transacting parties, contracts, detailed sizes of the parcels/building plots, assessed value of the property, and related plans. The following families are mentioned: Cohn, Fleischer, Auerbach, Reich, Israel and Danziger; along with the companies Weÿl & Nassau, Cohn Gebrüder, A. Fleischer, Unger & Wolff.
