- The fonds was transferred to the Covasna county directorate of the Romanian National Archives where it was inventoried in the years 1970-1971, being made available to researchers.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Until the First World War the prefecture of Sfîntu Gheorghe was part of Trei Scaune county in accordance with the law of territorial administration issued by the Hungarian Parliament. After the First World War the Romanian administration reorganised the territory of Transylvania by the law issued in 1925. Sfîntu Gheorghe prefecture became part of Trei Scaune county which included five prefectures: Baraolt, Covasna, Ozun, Sfîntu Gheorghe and Tîrgu Secuiesc. The prefecture of Sfîntu Gheorghe had in its administration 21 localities. In 1940, when the Hungarian administration was reinstalled, the system of organisation returned to the pre-First World War model, while after 1945 the Romanian system was used again until 1950 when the Communist regime fundamentally reorganised the territorial administration, Sfîntu Gheorghe becoming part of the Autonomous Hungarian Region. The new reform of the local administration from 1968 included Sfîntu Gheorghe in Covasna county.
