All of these records frequently mention Jewish individuals. The local Jewish community increased from 10 in 1890 to 175 in 1910.
- Archival history:
- The fonds was transferred to the Harghita County division of the Romanian National Archives in 1971, where it was inventoried and made available to researchers.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- In accordance with Law XXXIII of 1876 issued by the Hungarian parliament for the territorial organisation Lăzarea became part of Gheorgheni district, which lasted until the end of the First World War. In 1925, with the new Romanian organisation of the territory, Lăzarea remained in Gheorgheni district. After the Second World War, the Communist regime instituted in 1956 the so-called Hungarian Autonomous Region which included Lăzarea in the framework of the same district. This organisational model lasted until 1968 when the reorganisation of administration by the Ceauşescu national-communist regime included Lăzarea in Harghita county.
