The Romanian law for primary education of 1924 established the structure and responsibilities of the county school inspectorates under the new Romanian administration. The inspectorate was subordinated to the Regional Inspectorate in Cluj, was responsible for 218 primary schools with 326 teachers and published a Romanian-language pedagogical periodical. The Hungarian education system returned from 1940–44 and was again replaced in 1945 by the Romanian model, which lasted until school reforms introduced in 1948 by the new communist regime.
