- Administrative/biographical history:
- Iron Industries of Nădrag was founded in 1846, continuing the work of a factory which had operated in neighbouring Jdioara. After the First World War, the firm was taken over by Iron Industries Reşiţa, being first rented in 1924 and then bought by interwar Romania’s most important metallurgic holding, Titan-Nădrag-Călan. The firm produced rolled iron, agricultural tools and fireplaces. In 1948 the firm, along with all Romanian industry, was nationalised by the communist regime.
