The Caransebeş Corporation of Craftsmen was founded in 1886 to sustain and defend the professional interests of its members. After the First World War, 364 craftsmen were registered in Caransebeş, most of them masons, boot makers, tailors, carpenters and blacksmiths. In 1929, the Corporation was largely made up of boot makers, tailors, mechanics and blacksmiths. It functioned until the Second World War and was dissolved in 1941.
