- Archival history:
- The fonds was transferred in 1995 to the Romanian National Archives, Directorate of Bistriţa-Năsăud County.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The mayor’s office of Telciu was established in 1849. From 1861 to 1876 it was part of the autonomous district of Năsăud with its own notarial office. In 1876, after the organisation of Bistriţa-Năsăud county in accordance with the Austro-Hungarian law of administration, Telciu became part of Năsăud district. After the First World War, the Romanian law for administration from 1925 located Telciu in Năsăud district in the county of the same name. Between 1940 and 1944 the Hungarian administrative system was reintroduced, while after 1944 the restored Năsăud county included Telciu with its own notarial office. Since 1948 Telciu has also included the neighbouring village of Fiad.
