- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Chambers of Commerce and Industry were organised before the First World War according to Austro-Hungarian legislation and firms from Satu Mare county were subordinated to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Debreţin. After 1918, the Romanian administration put the firms from Satu Mare county under the authority of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Oradea which had two filial branches in Satu Mare and Sighetu Marmaţiei. In 1926 the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Satu Mare was established, which had under its jurisdiction the firms from the counties of Satu Mare and Maramureş. It ceased its activity during the Hungarian administration in the years 1940-1944 and was reestablished in October 1944 under the framework of the reinstalled Romanian regime. In 1949, the new Communist system replaced the Chamber of Commerce and Industry with newly organised Directions of Commerce.
