Omsk region was formed by the resolution of the Central Executive Committee on 7 December 1934. It was formed from areas from the West Siberian region, Ob-Irtysh and Chelyabinsk regions. By the resolution of the Central Executive Committee on 25 January 1935 Maryanovsky District Council was established out of Lyubinsky and Sherbakulsky rural districts. The district was created as part of the Omsk region. The centre of the newly created district was Marianovka village.
Simultaneously with the creation of the district executive committee, the Maryanovsky District Soviet of Workers, Peasants 'and Soldiers' Deputies was formed, as well as the jurisdiction of the executive committee of branch departments, administrations and committees.
In 1936, 6 village councils (Bogolyubovsky, Maryanovsky, Novy Popovski, Nokinsky, Pokrovsky, Stepninsky) and Aul Council number 11 acted on the territory of the Maryanovsky district.
The main forms of work of the District Council were sessions that were convened at least 4 times a year. The sessions discussed the budget and plans for socio-economic development of the district, reported on their implementation and decided the most important economic and organisational issues.
In 1963 the Maryanovsky executive committee was abolished. In 1965 it was restored. In 1993 it was finally abolished by the decree of the President.
