This collection includes decrees of the Synod, books of registration of civil marriages, material on the conflicts between parishioners and clergy and parish registers of civil registration of the churches of Tobolsk and Omsk spiritual consistory.
Parish registers include information on Jewish conversions in the region. In particular there are records of the personal conversions of Jewish cantonists of the Omsk battalion of cantonists in the 1840s in Voskresenskaya fortress church. The records include date of conversion, Jewish name, age, Christian name and data on the godparents of neophytes.
- Archival history:
- The parish registers from Omsk churches for 1722-1869 were transferred from Tobolsk to Omsk spiritual consistory when the Omsk diocese was separated from Tobolsk. Materials were added to the archive as part of the standard local process.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- In 1895 the Omsk diocese was separated from Tobolsk. As an administrative body of the diocese, Omsk spiritual consistory was established. It operated until 1920.
