Materials housed in the fond that pertain to Jewish history are found mainly in ops. 1, 4-8 – these are mainly files related to cases that fell under the competence of the Lwów Court of Appeal, and may be provisionally divided into the following thematic groups:
1) Appeal files, including court orders, minutes from examinations and interrogations of witnesses, letters of lawyers, and personal data of Jews accused of various offenses, including name and surname; nationality or religion; occupation; extracts from vital records; address of residence; certificates of graduation from educational and craft institutions, including Jewish ones; and information on membership in Jewish trade unions and public organizations. In particular, there is material on the merchants S. Spiegel (op. 4, 1925) and S. Amster’s (op. 4, 1936-39) financial disputes with the state treasury; on a case involving L., J., and R. Steinfinkov, accused of forging a contract with the aim of defrauding the state alcohol monopoly (op. 5, 1938-39); monetary disputes between individuals, including between I. Fitsich, a resident of Stanisławów, and L. Scheiner, renter of a Jewish bathhouse (mikvah) (op. 4, 1938-39); between A. Liubarsky and Z. Rosenfeld regarding the sale of a shop in Brody (op. 4, 1937); between F. Rugberger and H. Gliantser (op. 4, 1936-38); between the lawyer K. Czerwinski and Lwów residents I. and A. Leinwand (op. 4, 1938-39); etc.; on financial and other litigation between the Galicia Oil Company and Jewish Lublin residents L. Manes, H. Rahman, J. Loeberbaum, and others (op. 4, 1938-39); between the Czech firm “Horowitz and Vitforsky” (Brno) and the Lwów merchant M. Kohan (op. 4, 1938-39); on a case in which I. Rosenbaum was accused of forging signatures on certificates and letters of the Josef Wojciechowski trading company (Kołomyja) (op. 5, 1936-39); on property claims of Warsaw resident J. Lieberman against Lwów resident M. Lieberman (op. 4, 1937-39), etc.; on the annulment of the marriage of Lwów residents Sofia Schneider and her husband Nathan (op. 4, 1937-38); etc.; on a case in which M. and A. Goldfisher were accused of counterfeiting foreign currency (op. 5, 1939); a case in which V. Haber was accused of the assault and battery of H. Kleinfeld (op. 5, 1936-39); etc.
2) Files pertaining to cases in which Jewish employees of courts were accused of various offenses (op. 6-8), including negligence in the performance of official duties; bribery; collaboration with the Russian authorities in 1914; anti-state activities; etc. – defendants include S. Birken, M. Braunstein, E. Breit, M. Handel, and Z. Gutman; and clerks of the District Court in Brody N. Gurman Natan, I. Grosberg, S. Zegal, and J. Shtom (1921-39). There are also materials on a case in which a court officer named A. Madei was accused of a hostile attitude toward Jews (1920s); etc.

The Lwów Court of Appeal (Polish: Sąd apelacyjny we Lwowie) was established on the basis of the Lwów Supreme Regional Court in 1919. It was an appellate instance in cases heard by district courts of the Lwów, Stanisławów, and Tarnopol voivodeships, and a court of first instance for particularly complicated political cases. The court of appeal was headed by a chairman, with the following sections subordinate to him: the presidium, which supervised all court operations; the first and second civil divisions, which heard cases related to the state treasury, appeals against judgments of district courts of the Lwów appellate district, and antitrust cases; the criminal case department; the disciplinary court for judges and prosecutors; the disciplinary commission for court staff and bailiffs, as well as for prison guards; the forensic investigator, for cases of special importance; and the personnel bureau.
The Lwów Court of Appeal was liquidated in 1939 in connection with the Soviet annexation of Eastern Galicia.
