- This fonds includes decrees and other documents on debts of the Jewish communities of the cities of Jarosław (1693-1777) and Przemyśl (1703-78); materials pertaining to a lawsuit brought by the Lublin Tribunal against P. Godlevski, the deputy of the Przemyśl Castle Court, concerning the latter’s failure to execute the tribunal’s order that the korobka tax be collected from the Przemyśl Jewish community on behalf of the Jesuit Collegium (1712); materials pertaining to debt obligations of Jewish communities in various towns (Busk, Bóbrka, Złoczów, Trembowla, Gliniany, etc.) to Catholic monasteries and clergy (1732-82); a confirmation by the monastery of St. Brigid that the Jewish community of the town of Sokal had paid its debt (1768); and a letter from the secretary of the Piarists’ Collegium in the town of Złoczów to an unknown addressee concerning the production of copies of the collegium’s privileges and of the Jewish community’s debt obligations to the collegium (1782).
- Archival history:
- Documents of this collection had been housed in the “Archive of Castle and Land Writs” in L’vov/L’viv as fragmentary material under the heading of “Jesuits and Others.” In 1948, the materials were organised into 15 files under the heading “Documents on Catholic Monasteries and Jesuits in Western Ukraine.” The collection was subsequently supplemented by materials from other fonds (Nos. 52, 134, 159, 201). Upon a review of the fonds in 1974 it was determined that the materials collected pertain not only to monasteries, but also churches and parishes, and also cover a much wider area than previously thought, and thus the collection received its current name.
- System of arrangement:
- The documents in the fonds are arranged in the order in which they were received.
- Finding aids:
