- This was established in March 1923 as the Kherson Executive Committee’s department of social services, and was reorganised as an inspectorate in December 1924. It was under the jurisdiction of the area executive committee, as well as the Odessa Provincial Department of Social Services; and from 1 June 1925 answered directly to the Ukrainian SSR People’s Commissariat of Social Services. It rendered assistance and provided services to the disabled and needy, and had oversight of social services entities in the territory of the Kherson area. It was disbanded in 1930 in the course of a reform of administrative-territorial divisions involving the liquidation of areas.
