- Documents housed in the fonds include orders of the Bessarabia governor and the Chișinău [Kishinev] Area Police Inspectorate that records be kept on Jews; lists and logbooks of Jews interned in the Bolgrad ghetto, and statistical data on their numbers, gender breakdown, and age (1941); lists of Jewish families living in Bolgrad and who had arrived there from Transylvania.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- These police entities were established in the territory of the Governorate of Bessarabia in July 1941. They were under the jurisdiction of the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs, and immediately subordinate to the Chișinău [Kishinev] Area Police Inspectorate. The ceased operations in August 1944 when units of the Red Army took control of the territory of Bessarabia.
