- Included are lists of famine victims from among residents of the former Jewish colony of Efingar’ (Novyi Bug district, Nikolaev area) (1925); statistical data from preliminary results of the census of 1926, including information on population size and the number of farmsteads (broken down by ethnicity) in the Nikolaev area countryside (1926); survey questionnaires of cultural-educational and vocational institutions, preschools, and educational institutions in population centres of the Nikolaev area containing, among other things, data on Jewish labour schools (with instruction conducted in Yiddish), kindergartens, children's shelters, and village council buildings and clubs, including employee lists thereof (1925-27).
- Administrative/biographical history:
- This was formed in 1923 as a standalone department of the Nikolaev Area Executive Committee; until 1925 it was also under the jurisdiction of the Odessa Provincial Statistics Bureau and the Ukrainian SSR Central Statistics Administration. It gathered and analysed statistical data on the area’s population, agriculture, industry, finances, trade, education, healthcare, etc. It ceased operations in 1930 upon the liquidation of areas.
