- Included is information on the size of the Jewish population by district, and materials of a census of the Jewish population of the Berezno district (1943); orders for the removal of Rovno Jews to ghettos, and correspondence on this subject between the Rovno burgomaster and gebietskommisar (1942); orders of the Rovno Gebietskommissariat that Jews be on duty to put Jewish apartments in order; lists of buildings in which Jews resided, and permits to sell Jews’ former homes; correspondence of the Rovno Judenrat with the Rovno burgomaster on the allocation of “the Jewish workforce”; etc.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- These were governmental bodies of administrative units of Reichskommissariat Ukraine during the German occupation of the Rovno region (1941-44). They were headed by gebietskommisars, who in turn were immediately subordinate to the general-commissar of the Volhynia-Podolia General Area. They monitored the activities of bodies of Ukrainian self-government, dealt with administrative-economic issues, etc.
