- Materials housed in the fond include applications of and files on the teachers and pupils of the A. M. Kozarinskii Private Jewish Men’s High School [gimnaziia] of Kiev; plans of operation and reports of the school; records of entrance examinations; logs recording the progress of pupils, and certificates attesting to their graduation from the school; vital-records documents, lists, and questionnaire forms of students; correspondence of the school’s directors with the Kiev Educational District administration and the Commissariat for Kiev Educational District Affairs; bookkeeping documents; etc.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- This was opened in 1916. Its founder and headmaster was A. M. Kozarinskii. The school offered instruction in both general-education and Jewish subjects. In 1918, per an order of the commissar for Kiev Educational District affairs, the Ukrainian language began to be taught at the school; in 1919, it became a co-educational institution, and was renamed the Kiev Jewish Coeducational Full High School. It was closed by order of the People’s Commissariat of Education in 1920.
