- The fond’s materials include correspondence on opening Russia’s first Jewish public commercial school; on organising charitable evening events and shows and collecting donations for the Society for Summer Sanatoria-Colonies for Ill Children from among the Indigent Jewish Population of the city of Kiev, the Society for Alms to Poor Consumptive Jews of the city of Kiev, and the Kiev branch of the Society for the Promotion of Culture among the Jews of Russia (OPE); and prospectuses and price lists of Jewish commercial firms and banking offices.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- This was established in 1894 pursuant to the Russian Foreign Trade Bank charter (1871). It performed all manner of bank operations, and took orders for the purchase and sale of sugar, bread, and other goods, and for the export of sugar abroad. It was nationalised in 1919.
