- Among the fond’s materials are files on drawing boundaries of korobka [kosher meat tax] precincts in towns of the Kiev province; on the organisation of factories by Jews; on the allocation of land to Jews for construction projects; on land disputes between Jews; and on the demolition of Jewish-owned structures located near Russian Orthodox churches.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Kiev provincial land surveyor was in charge of the Kiev Provincial Drawing Office (see f. 35 of this archive), as well as of operations of municipal and county surveyors in demarcating privately-owned lands and drawing boundaries between these and state peasant lands; and in compiling drafts, survey and topographic maps and designs, etc. The office of provincial land surveyor was dissolved in 1917 in connection with a reform of the surveying agency and the transfer of land settlement functions to the People’s Commissariat of Farming.
