- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Jewish writer Khane Levin (Khana Mironovna Levina) (1900-69) was born in the city of Ekaterinoslav (now Dnipropetrovsk/Dnepropetrovsk). She studied at the Moscow Foreign Languages Institute (1939-41). A resident of Khar’kov, she worked in newspapers, worked as a librarian, and engaged in literary activity. Her work was first published in 1917. She wrote children’s fairy tales, stories, and poems in Yiddish and Russian; these works were published in the original and in Ukrainian translation. She died in Khar’kov.
