- Literary manuscripts of N. L. Zabila housed in the fond include translations (from Yiddish to Ukrainian) of poems by Riva Baliasnaia (1960s); stories, fairy tales, and poems by Khane Levin (1950s-70s) (as well as an article on her writings); and poems by D. G. Khaikina (1970s-80s). There are also letters to Zabila from such Jewish writers as Riva Baliasnaia (1957-73); Leyb Kvitko (1945); I. N. Kipnis (1959); Khane Levin (1955-68); and others.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Ukrainian writer Nataliia L’vovna Zabila (1903-85) was born in St. Petersburg and graduated from Khar’kov University (1925). She worked as a school teacher; at the editorial office of the journal Nova kniha; and at the Ukrainian Book Chamber. She served as director of the Khar’kov organisation of the Union of Writers of Ukraine, and edited the children’s magazine Barvinok. She wrote and translated poetry, including poetry for children. She authored over forty books, and was awarded the Lesia Ukrainka Prize. She died in Kiev.
