- Administrative/biographical history:
- The first All-Ukrainian Congress of Labour Unions took place in Khar’kov in late April – early May 1919. However, for an extended period labour unions of the Ukrainian SSR had no central leadership, and Ukrainian labour unions were thus simply a part of the labour union system of Soviet Russia. Beginning in February 1920, Ukrainian labour unions were overseen by the Southern Bureau of the All-Russian Central Council of Labour Unions, and from September 1923 on, by the Ukrainian Bureau of the All-Russian Central Council of Labour Unions. The All-Ukrainian Council of Labour Unions was established in November 1924, and in April 1935 renamed the Council of Labour Unions of Ukraine. Liquidated in June 1937, it resumed operations in September 1948 by resolution of the 19th plenary session of the All-Union Central Council of Labour Unions.
