- Materials housed include information on persons elected to the Podolia Provincial Committee as authorized representatives of the Jewish population; minutes of sessions and expanded assemblies of the committee as participated in by representatives of the Bund, the United Jewish Socialist Workers Party (Fareynikte) and its local organisation, and Zionists (October 1917); reports from counties on an increasing wave of pogroms; and an announcement of the Podolia Provincial Administration rejecting the request of Jews of the city of Balta for permission to sell meat on Thursdays instead of Saturdays (May 1917); etc.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- This body was established in the spring of 1917 to work out joint decisions and coordinate action in implementing government decrees on normalizing the political situation in the province. It ceased to exist after the Bolsheviks came to power in Petrograd and as civil war spread in Ukraine.
