- The fond constitutes a collection of microform documents from Russian archival institutions: the Russian State Historical Archive (RGIA), the State Archive of the Russian Federation (GARF), the Russian State Military-Historical Archive (RGVIA), and the State Historical Museum (GIM). Materials pertaining to Jewish history include information on restrictions on the acceptance of Jews at educational institutions and the ban on Jews occupying certain posts (in particular, on the restriction on the number of Jews at the Lisichansk Mining School and measures taken to remove “the Jewish element” from mines of the Donets Basin; on restricting access to nautical schools and navigation positions vis-à-vis “persons of the Judaic confession”); data on the existence of vocational courses at Jewish educational institutions, and on the organizing of private business colleges funded by Jewish patrons; on the requirements of Jewish craftsmen in simple crafts administrations; on the Jewish community’s allocation of funds toward establishing a vocational school in the town of Bratslav; etc.
