- Administrative/biographical history:
- Members of the Polish gentry family of the Tarłos, well-known from the fifteenth century on, included a crown vice-chancellor, wojewodas of Lublin and Sandomierz, an archbishop of Lwów, a bishop of Poznań, etc. However, by the mid-eighteenth century, this family had lost its former influence.
