- Administrative/biographical history:
- Provincial administrations for agriculture and state property were founded in 1867 on the basis of the Kiev and Podolia Chambers of Agriculture and State Property, which had existed since 1838; they were subordinate to the Ministry of State Property. The administrations held jurisdiction over government (state) peasants and the state property of both provinces, as well as Jewish agricultural colonies located on state lands. The administrations’ economic units concluded contracts for the construction and rental of various structures. They were liquidated in 1883 with the formation of the Kiev-Podolia State Property Administration (see f. 492).
