- Included in the fold are court and investigative files on a number of people accused of distributing materials calling for pogroms against Jews and, in particular, on the accusation that F. I. Postnyi (Iakovlev), editor of the Kiev newspaper Na strazhe, had published a poem (author unknown, signed “Count Baturin”) containing analogous incitement (1909-10); files on townspeople and peasants accused of being directly involved in pogroms and in inciting violence in villages and towns of the Volhynia (the town of Troianov, the villages of Singury and Kroshnia) and Kiev (the town of Smela) provinces. There are also files on residents of the Kiev, Volhynia, and Mogilev provinces accused of being members of the Bund or Zionist organizations; of printing, being in possession of, and distributing proclamations and of distributing illegal literature among peasants and soldiers; of making statements to the effect that peasants should not join the Union of the Russian People (1913-14); etc.
